Bhaun - an Ancient Market Town
Located in the fertile Dhan Valley just north of the Salt Range on the Pothohar Plateau, this market town served as the crossroads of nearby villages.
With an approximately equal distribution of Hindus and Muslims before the partition of India (1947), a few unused Hindu temples still stand.
The modern Bhaun is a clean educated town populated mostly by descendants of the storied five clans that founded it in the Middle Ages.
