Historic Railway Station

For over one hundred years, Bhaun was the terminus of the Mandra-Bhaun line on which people would travel to Rawalpindi.

With better roads and the building of the M-2 Motorway, road transportation became more convenient and both Bhaun and Chakwal railway stations were abandoned.

It has become unfeasible to restore the railway even for cargo because the tracks have been uprooted and sold over the decades by non-authorized elements.
